3.12 MEETING RECAP

DOG HOUSE COMPETITION
The registration period has officially ended and there are 4 groups that have registered for the competition. The groups are Team Christy, Team Andrew, Team Shaler, and Team Christopher. Please make sure to reference the Dog House Program on the blog. Each member that participates will automatically earn 10 membership points.

OFFICER APPLICATIONS
The officer applications are available on the blog and must be submitted by April 9th. All decisions will be made by architecture faculty. We are inviting any members who are interested in what an officer position entails to our officer meeting, this MONDAY at noon in room 907. We'll talk more about the duties of each role, and what happens after officers are selected.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
The scholarship applications are now available on the blog and must be submitted by April 9th. All decisions are made solely by architecture faculty. As of now we can only afford to fund 1 $250 scholarship, but we are hoping to raise enough money to award 3 scholarships.

CLUB FINANCES
As of now, the club has $668 in our account. We need to have a balance of $300 for the next academic year. We hope to award $750 in scholarships, meaning we still need to raise $382 by May.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
We have another build date on April 6th at the Oakland development. The following members are signed up, but we need at least 15 members in attendance: Victoria Del Rio, Calyn Lim, Yuncon Tu, Citadale Del Campo, Christopher Morgado, Ricardo Campos, Medardo Vasquez, Eric Ruelas, Shabnam Amir, Stephanie Lloyd, Andrew Storer.

JOG-A-THON
We will be having a jog-a-thon on April 11th from 4-6PM and April 12th from 11AM-1PM. Each day you attend you will automatically receive 3 membership points, and 1 membership points for each sponsor you receive.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email us!

UPDATE 3/5

FIRM TOUR: The firm tour of Huntsman Architectural Group will be this Friday, March 8th. Please meet in front of the building (50 California St #700, San Francisco) at 2PM! Please do not be late, it is extremely unprofessional and will give a bad impression of the Chabot Architecture Club. Also, after careful consideration, we highly recommend that you dress nicely instead of wearing your club shirt. Please dress as though you will be giving a presentation. If you have any questions about what is acceptable attire, feel free to respond.

DOGHOUSE REGISTRATION: Remember, the dog house registration form is due Monday, and you can turn it in any time before that as well. The competition will start on Tuesday. We have spread the competition out across multiple deadlines to make it easier for the competitors. The competition program will be available on Tuesday, and the first deliverable will be a design statement and sketches, due either a week or two after the program is available. Remember, you may be in groups of no more than 4. As an incentive to participate, materials will be provided to you in late March. All members who participate will earn 10 membership points AUTOMATICALLY for submitting a doghouse. Winners of the competition will receive extra membership points. REMEMBER, the dog house competition is a FUNDRAISER, and all dog houses will either be raffled off or sold at the Chabot College Flea Market. ALL PROCEEDS OF THIS FUNDRAISER WILL BE ALLOTTED TO SCHOLARSHIPS. Right now we have enough money to offer ONE scholarship, and we would like to offer THREE. Also, if enough money is raised, we may be able to offer MORE THAN THREE scholarships. If you have any other questions or concerns, please respond!

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: The scholarship applications will become available on Tuesday, March 12th. You must be a Chabot Architecture Club member on track to having 40 membership points by the end of the semester. If you are not sure if you will have enough membership points, we urge you to apply anyway.

OFFICER APPLICATIONS: The officer applications will become available on Tuesday, March 12th. At the next meeting we will be talking about the application process, and what happens after you are selected. Please refer to previous emails for officer position descriptions.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: Just a reminder that our next HFH event will be on April 6th! We will have a sign up sheet at our next meeting.
